Alpha Omicron Chapter at Queens University of Charlotte

Kappa Delta

"Shamrock Shimmy" Philanthropy Event

Each Spring our chapter has a huge fundraiser where 100 percent of our proceeds go to our philanthropies. Our local philanthropy, Pat’s Place, will receive 80% of the proceeds. Pat’s Place is a local advocacy agency in Charlotte for children who are neglected and abused; when a child is unsafe they are put into contact with a social worker who will assist him or her in finding a safe place to go. Our national philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA) will be receiving 20 percent of the proceeds. PCAA promotes healthy development in children and tries to prevent child abuse before it becomes an issue.
On March 19, 2016 from 1-4pm on Burwell Lawn at Queens University of Charlotte we will be having our fundraiser event and all are invited to come Shimmy with us as we raise awareness to prevent child abuse. This year we are hosting our second Shamrock Shimmy where we have contacted Zumba instructors from the area to dance with us on the lawn and help us raise money to go to these great organizations.
